Flight Simulator X, commonly known by its acronym FSX is a flight simulator game developed and marketed by the games division of the biggest software company in the world, Microsoft. The latest and tenth version of the game is known as FSX. The game allows the users to fly planes; the cockpit and the controls all are same as that of an original aircraft. The game offers almost all aircrafts in production now. However, the FS2004 and FSX are not likely to play in optimum performance if you install Windows 8 operating system on your computer.

According to the Microsoft support site, even though some users have complained that the game could not be played on the Windows 8 operating system, the Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Acceleration is compatible with both Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 operating systems. The company states that the same is true for all the other versions of the FSX and FS2004 except for the deluxe version of the FSX. However, some of the users have stated that they were able to use the deluxe version of the FSX without any error even though Microsoft has labeled it as non-compatible with Windows 8 and Windows 8.1.

Most of the users say that they are not experiencing any compatibility issues; however, some claim that they are not able to reinstall the application on their system after they install Windows 8. Some experience troubles and errors while running and playing the game in Windows 8 when the installation was smooth. Therefore, it will take a while for the Microsoft team to fix the issues related to FSX as the issues affected by users are varied.
